I have a 'Mega HD subscription package' for my TataSky DTH connection. Annual subscription paid by me on July 1 2013. Subscriber ref. no. 1006322232. In terms of this package, all new channels on TataSky have to be given free of cost during the annual subscription period.
A new Channel has been launched ‘STAR PREMIER HD’ on Sept 24 2013. Which is a General Entertainment English Channel. I am not able to view this Channel, which has to be made available to me free of cost as per my MEGA HD PACK subscription terms of purchase and committment.
I have called the TataSky call center on Sept 24, 25 & 26 Sept ‘13. They are not able to help. They ONLY do a scripted reply that the Channel is not available in my subscription package. They informed me that this channel is termed as a 'special category channel' and I have to pay Rs 60 pm extra to view this Channel.
This is absolutely absurd and they are cheating me. The new Channel is a GENERAL ENTERTAINMENT ENGLISH CHANNEL. Therefore, it cannot be a Special Channel in any form. This Channel has to be made available to me within the subscription money paid for my MEGA HD PACK. I cannot be forced to pay the extra subscription that is being incorrectly demanded.
Therefore, it is represented that this new Channel be made available to me at no extra cost.
I thought other providers would be offering Star World Premiere HD for free in their annual HD Pack but Videocond2h too is charging Rs.60 pm even for their Platinum HD subscribers. I won’t be surprised if Airtel Digital TV charges the same. So I think the charge must be from the channel’s side and not from the DTH providers. They should atleast lower the price of this channel in future. Apart from the cost I think it is worth subscribing to this channel on tata sky as they are airing exclusive shows within 24 hours of US telecast and that too with no sub-titles.
