Our amazing South Eastern EMU local trains take near about 25min or more in average to cover a distance hardly 2 kilometres from Tikiyapara Station to Howrah in both ways. Often it takes more than 45 min to cross the distance. Due to this, actual arrival and departure times do not match anyway with the published railway time table and causes purchasing timetable is also a bad investment for all passengers. Every day thousands of daily passengers travel in this route with miserable experience. Can we expect from concern railway officials to take necessary action to solve this problem and provide us a time reliable service for what we are paying money to railway every day.
I have one suggestion for betterment of daily livelihood of local passengers of kolkata and surrounding district like - howrah, hooghly, Midnapur and North 24 pargans.
In west bengal most of the government and non government offices are in Saltlake(Bidhan Nagar) area. Saltlake is the IT hub of this state also. Now this is the business hub of the state. Bidhannagar Railway station is the nearest railway station in this area. There is an existing rail way network from Andul station to Sealdah via Dankuni, Dumdum, Bidhannagar station. Now only goods trains are running in this route vai Dankuni from Andul. If you run some local trains in this rout most of the passengers can directly reach Bidhannagar and can save extra 1and1/2 hours every day by traveling to Howrah Station and then pick up a bus for saltlake or sealdah to reach their office.
