INDIAN RAILWAY

Dear Sirs,

I along with my family (my wife and daughter) was travelling from PURI to TATANAGAR JN by PUROSHOTTAM EXPRESS with confirmed ticket on 1st March 2011 (Train No. 12801, Ticket No. AA 09856181, PNR No. 615-3217722, Berth No. S4-65, 66 & 67 and Coach No. S4). We were sitting on our reserved seats and train started almost right time. After starting the train and just after leaving the platform, suddenly one person/miscreant snatched the ladies bag containing some valuable items which was under the possession of my wife and jumped out from the running train. This has happened at around night 10.30PM on 01.03.2011 nearby PURI Station. Inside the Bag there was some valuable items like HANDYCAM (SONY) CAMERA, around Rs. 2000/=, all house & almirha Keys, some papers and some other ladies items. After the incident took place my wife & daughter were crying and we were shocked and so upset that we were not in a position to decide what to do.

Thereafter, TTE of the particular coach (S4) was reported and he advised to lodge a FIR at GRPF Office of Khurda Railway Station. I have filled up the Complaint form (ANNEXURE-A) provided by the concerned TTE and tried to submit the same (lodge a FIR) at GRPF Office at Khurda Station, but they have refused to accept.
Thereafter, I approached concerned TTE but he could not help us as he expressed that particular in this case he cannot do anything.

Next day morning (2nd March 2011) we met RPF, KGP (Kharagpur) Division in the train and we explained everything to the In-Charge of RPF escorting KGP Division and then he accepted our complaint.

In view of the above, automatically question comes about Safety of Passengers.
I, therefore, request you to take necessary action against the culprit and find out my stolen property and hand over the same to me at the earliest.

Also, you need to take necessary steps against concerned Railway Officials to rectify the safety department and as a whole overall system.

Please look into it and your immediate action on the above is solicited.

Yours faithfully,
P. K. Roy
