Dear Sir,
I face daily problem in commuting from borivali residence. In the morning, trains coming from the direction of churchgate are already crowded due to returning passengers from malad & kandivali. There is no seat available to sit. To add to our injury, there are trains coming to borivali as the last station from the direction of virar. The passengers from these trains savagely rush in trains leaving from borivali, and we cannot even get in the trains !!!! The returning passengers in both the cases are arrogant & use abusive language.............they make merry only because they have advantage of this unfortunate facility !!! It seems the arrival timing of trains from virar has been deliberately fixed by railways so that they can alight and board trains originating from borivali, keeping in mind the unprecedented rush in trains originating from virar onwards. Why should we residents of borivali bear the brunt of this biased train timings ???

Passengers also show no sympathy or social responsibility towards couples with small children & make them stand !! It shows how passengers are jumping on the bandwagon called ''right to commute" & exercising this right to full effect!!!!

I bought my residence in borivali, considering the ease of commute from there.....................but now I am convinced that I have committed a big mistake. The smart one's are those who bought properties in kandivali, malad, goregaon, dahisar, mira road, bhayander, naigaon !! They have a nice commute !!

I urge the railways to take some steps in this regard. Please if you can implement the following measures;

1. -->> Couples with children, especially females should also be regarded as vulnerable passengers like senior citizens & have right to any seat on demand. It will suffice if the female sits with the child & the male continues to stand.

2. -->> Trains coming from virar with last destination as borivali should not arrive at platform no.s 1, 2, 3. They can be halted at platform no. 6 or 6A. Though outstation bound trains also come on these platforms, the frequency is infrequent with some also arriving on platform no. 4 and 5.

3. -->> Trains coming from direction of churchgate with final station as borivali must be sent to yard/carshed, once they come to borivali. These trains, once they reach carshed, must be re-introduced after 10-15 minutes halting time. This will deter returning passengers because it will get late for them to attend office.

Hope you give due attention to my recommendations.

Thanks & Regards,
Shardul Jani.
