Hi,
I purchased a Hyundai i20 from Express Hyundai, Sholinganalur, Chennai in June 2010. As I was travelling at the time the car was delivered, the dealer forged my signature on the car registration papers! I complained to the dealer and to Hyundai Motor sending emails to the GM and the MD of Hyundai and they didn't even bother to reply! Such is there care for the consumer. Nothing has happened in the last almost 3 years.
I have an extended guarantee on the car - Hyundai i20 Asta Diesel. Since the last 3 weeks I have serious problems with the power steering. The steering just freezes and doesn't move! Then suddenly it will move with strong sharp jerks in the direction it was last turned! I took the car to the Authorised Dealer for repair but it appears they have not been able to identify the problem. Will someone please let me know if they have experienced such a problem, what it is due to and how it should be fixed?
Thanks,
Ajit

It's pretty common for the p/s pump to fail, but usually from what I've read (and experienced) it shears off inside. It sounds like yours failed due to lack of fluid and it seized inside.
