After a lot convincing done by telemarketing guy for a Holiday Package of 2 N/3D for entire family in 3 to 5 Star Hotel along with Return Air Fare for one person, I purchased the package costing Rs 3198 . I was again convinced that why I should not take one more package so that Return Air Fare for my wife will be free and Holiday package will be extended for 2 more nights, I purchased another package @ Rs.3198. There was no mention of offering of any BOOK at that time , it was purely Holiday Package only.
I was shocked to receive two packets of same books and CD set after few days. I was expecting Holiday Package Details as promised. It was mentioned in the invoice that to claim free gift I have to log on to www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm. I need unique promotion number to key in to claim the free gift. When I entered the unique promotion number given on the invoice it comes with error - You have made incorrect entries. Kindly check and enter once again !!!. I complained the matter by e mail after 2 days it was comunicated that my account was not activated and the matter has been forwarded to the concrned cell. Again I complained and got reply that it will be activated in 48 hours, but as expected it has not been activated since last 7 days. Actually there is no such system of activating the account and they are simply cheating innocent people. India Today, Aaj Tak such a big Name and such a big Cheating Raket-BIG SCAM, SENSATIONAL REVEALING OF CHEATING RAKET by such a BIG Organization

I hereby lodge formal complaint that India Today Book club is making false promises
I support this complaint.
My membership no with India Today Book Club is ITBC09151354.
They sent me the wrong product after promising another product (even the promised specs were a lie). The product has been received back by them on Dec 18th 2009. I am still waiting for a refund.
I have sent them scores of mails, spent hundreds on phone calls but to no avail. Every time they tell that the matter has been escalated and give me a date by which I shall get a refund.( now they have stopped giving any dates too. Their customer care acknowledges that their promises have proven to be false many times hence they would not give a date and I shall have patience .My requests for talking to a senior are met with standard response that they are not authorized to pass on the phone)
If there is an award for cheating, ITBC will win it hands down. Perhaps this is the arrogance born out of being a big media house. They have been unearthing scams, who can dare to unearth theirs?
The number of complaints that we see against their name is proof enough of their intentions.
