Iam a frequent traveler with indian railways, This complaint is regarding the sign board at the road near two wheeler parking lot at Chennai central railway station. On sep-29-2009 I took my two wheeler from the parking area, and took a right to join the main road which I normally do, On that day a RPF cop stopped me and said I am on NO ENTRY, I was shocked and asked about the sign board. To my astonishment he showed me a sign board which was hiding in the corner of the road, under the shadow of the tree. Also to my shock I noticed that the sing board arrow was drawn by the CHALK Piece. not only that the sign board was written on the barricade with WHITE Paint on the BLACK background, I had so far not seen such a COLOR STANDARD for a NO ENTRY. the most shocking was the ARROW written using a CHALK piece. Then I was asked to appear before the court and pay RS 200/-. for this i spent almost the whole day in the chennai central railway station.

Now My complaint is what kind of standard we follow for the sign boad, It is correct to write the NO ENTRY ARROW IN THE CHALK PIECE and expect the public to follow the signs. and more over I wasted all my time in the railway station dont we have a quick way to pay the fine if at all it is fineable.

I dont understand how it got missed by any one of the higher authorities ( NO ENTRY written in the chalk piece). So please do make the sign boards visible and kindly follow the standard symbols and colors to mark the NO ENTRY signs.

Kindly think about the other common uneducated people who are not aware of these things, please improve the standards in the railway station.

Complainant's Goal: To improve the condition/ follow the correct sign color and symbols
