DISH TV - I am unhappy and dissatisfied due to neglegency in service providing by DISH TV.

Hi,
I am a DISH TV STB connection holder,my VC No. is- 01513262102 due to transfer/shifting, I wanted to re install my DISH TV connection at new location at same city (in Ranchi), for that I call to DISHTV customer care on 11th Apr. 2012 and register my request, I got an assurance from them that within 24 hrs your work will done;but after fore days on 16 th one installer came and re-installe the cable antena at night and advised me to recharge the STB for viewing channels, I followed his instruction and recharge the same but till next morning my SBT not get started and also I got a msg on my TV screen, to rechargin the connection for viewing the chanels , so again I called to the Customer care asked tem to do the need full.He instructed over the phone and I followed his instructions for starting the STB, in the mean time they also confirm me that my VC account has recharged with Rs 200/-; after a long discussion of 35 min. c.c. exexutive inform me that my STB is not working properly now, he again generate a request for re checking of STB by local technition/ installer, they came on 19th Apr. and without doing any thing in STB left the, problem as it was . I write four times to the DISH TV custome care on customercare@dishtv.in for resolving the problem, and also had tele conversations with higher executive at Kolkata dish tv ofc (with Mr. Das ,4-5 times on phone no-033-40083474 and 40083476) regarding the same, and every time I got only assurance that, my connection problem will be solved within 24 hrs. But after 19th days passed, the problem still exists, no one is taking care of it from DISH TV. For how long shall I wait for it.....? How much MORE time will it tke for solving my STB connection problem? Please look into the matter so that my complaint will resolve soon and take action against DISH TV, .

Complainant's Goal: I want to resolve my DIST TV connection, replace my STB and compenset me.

My name is Pradipto Das & I booked an online order for dish HD box+recorder last Monday, 15/10/12. DISH service center guaranteed me installation between 10am-12pm the next day (Tuesday). So I took the first half off from work and waited for the technician to show up. When he did not show up till 1 pm, I called up DISH service center and spoke to one of your supervisors, Mr. Sanjeev, who promised me that he will escalate the matter and somebody will be there within 2 hours. Nothing happened till 4 o'clock. Then I called back again and spoke to another supervisor. He again said that he will escalate the matter. Around 5 pm I got a call from Kolkata service center (Mr. Das) who said somebody will be there by 6:00 pm. The Technician showed up at 8pm and installation was completed by 9:30.

However, this was just the beginning of the problem. Within 18-20 hours of installation (Wednesday evening), I lost all programming and got an error message that STB and VC not paired (error 201). I was really upset at this time and I called up the service station and they went thru a number of diagnostic steps which did not resolve the issue. They said that they will send me a technician next day. Fortunately, I had the number for the technician that installed my system and I called him around 6:30pm and explained the problem. He showed up at 10:30 pm and told me that the new STB was faulty and promised me he will return at 10:00 am the next day with a new box. He took the defective STB box and VC card with him. He did not show up at all the next day (Wednesday). At this time I called your Kolkata service station (033-40083476) and explained the problem. Upon expressing deep anger, they finally sent me another technician with the new box. Upon installation of the new box, I was still not getting the channels properly and they told me that the signal strength was poor and the antenna needs to be re-aligned. But they do not have the tool for doing it and another technician needs to come back and finish the job. After much screaming and yelling from my behalf, finally somebody showed up again at around 3 pm and fixed the signal. Finally everything was working-so did I think.

Within two hours of the the tech leaving, I again lost a lot of channels, including Star Cricket, Ten HD sports, Ten Cricket and all the Bengali Channels. I hope you can understand my frustration at this point. I called up the local Kolkata distributor Mr. Sapratim Das (033-40083476), and expressed my anguish and told him to take the box back as i wanted a refund. He apologized and said he will fix the problem remotely within two hours (Thursday night-yesterday). As of now, this has not been fixed.

In the mean time, I have spoken 3-4 times with DISH Main service center, who gave me the useless answer that they will escalate the issue.

Given the extremely poor service and quality, I wanted to cancel my subscription and demand an immediate & full refund of Rs. 2290 that I paid online on Monday. They said that they do not have refund policy!! I will send them a legal notice.

NEVER BUY DISH!!THEY ARE HORRIBLE.
