I had booked 5 nights (27th Dec- 2nd Jan 2010) at the Burns Hotel, london( Best Western chain) thru Hotel-board. com for the discounted amount of GBP 457. The day before flying out I checked my booking on line and everything was ok. Arriving at the hotel late afternoon, with a pre-paid voucher in hand, we were told that the reservation had been cancelled on the 23rd Dec because \'agent had not paid & if guests arrive get them to pay the hotel \'. The hotel had no double rooms for those nights, so they gave us 2 single rooms and they told us that we had been very unlucky because they had heard , through another agent, that Hotel-board has gone bankrupt. I called the emergency number (+1 716 989 5169 ), but of course there was no answer, I guess because it was the holiday period, nonetheless, as an \'emergency\' number not much use !!!
Hotel-Board still on line, still working. At the end of our stay we were given a bill of GBP828. this of course , on top of the 457 which I\'d payed Hotel-Board, rather expensive for a 3 star hotel !!!!!!!!
When we got back to Italy I\'ve tried and still trying, to get in touch with them and in particular with a Mr. Pearmain, without success, when I complained to the Hotel,
they sent me a copy of an email sent by Mr. Pearmain in which he assures the hotel that I have been fully refunded , this on the6th January. This is not true !!
I keep on writting to Hotel-Board and to Mr.Pearmain, but so far being totally ignored. I feel completely impotent and I think these people play on the fact that if I were to get legal advice from Italy, it would cost a lot more than the GBP 457 I\'m trying to get back.

Complainant's Goal: I want my GBP 457 back.

Same situation for myself as well back in Sept 2008. I had been blogging my progress of trying to get my money back on trip advisor as i thought this would help others out and give them hope that they would eventually be provided with a refund. However, all my blogs were deleted... i do not know why... anyway after nearly 3 months a did recieve my money back minus £40. Through endless hours of searching the internet and speaking to various people through emails and on the phone i found the address in England of where the business was based and contacted the local police(sympathetic but not much they could do apart from make a general house call- i still do not know if this was done) I also found a contact number of the men in that house and phoned them and they were caught of guard-very anxious and trying to fob me off with all sorts of excuses... these are the kinds of things i tried... as well as emailing them daily... so i would suggest to contact your bank and keep pestering hotel-board with emails. Through research i think there are two men behind the business and they are from Turkey... that is were my money went according to my bank. Do not give up and pass the word around the internet about this fruadelent company so that hopefully this company will stop getting business and be shut down for good.

Hotel-Board.com is a Fraud. They put the number, 716-989-5169, as an emergency number. But there is always answering machine recordings. Nobody ever answer the phone.

HOTEL-BOARD.COM is a fraud--a BIG LIAR. They charge my credit card for the full payment--a 30 days\' reservation at Prince William Hotel at London. They never pay the hotel I booked and cancel my reservation on the day I arrive the hotel. No response, no answer, no REFUND from them, after they got all the money!!

I support this complaint.
The same thing happened to me in Chicago. My prepaid vouchers were not accepted as the hotel had not received bookings for me, so I had to pay again by credit card.
Letters and phone calls to Reading have been ignored. I contacted my local Trading Standards Office and have been advised to claim against the credit card company.

Same thing happened to me. My prepaid voucher was not accepted by the hotel. I had to pay again by creditcard. Hotel-board.com promised to refund the original payment. In spite of a great number of reminders they do not make any refund. They do not even send any replies to my mails.
