State Bank of India - I am not satisfied with your service and makes my position a bit awkward.

On 16th Dec.11, I have issued an a/c payee cheque bearing no.037030 dated 16-12-11 of my SB a/c.no. 10********5 of SBI, Chittaranjan Loco Works of Rs.66636/- to LIC, Chittaranjan Branch Office, Rupnarayanpur Bazar towards payment of yearly renewal premium of my policy. Later, LIC, Chittaranjan Branch Office, Rupnarayanpur Bazar have issued me a letter dated 16-01-12 wherein it has been indicated that SBI,Rupnarayanpur (br.code2114, IFS code: SBIN0002114) have returned the cheque unpaid vide their memo no. nil dated 02-01-12 stating ‘funds insufficient’, although there is sufficient amount of funds in my said SB account and question of insufficient funds does not arise. In this regard, LIC have also advised me to submit the policy premium amount plus ‘charges for dishonoured cheque’ through Demand Draft only. This makes my position enough awkward.
I then met and asked Mr.H.Dey, Accountant, SBI,Rupnarayanpur why this has happened, he in return told that this was a mistake from bank side only and advised me to resubmit the cheque. For this I asked why do I have to suffer if things go from my end properly just because SBI/Rupnarayanpur had carelessly done their job. He then also advised me to make an appeal for waiving of the penal charges+DD charges i.e.Rs.325/-. On dated 20-01-12, I have submitted, with extreme grief, the DD of Rs.66761/-(including dishonoured charges @ Rs.125/-) where DD charges is Rs.200/-.
On 24th Jan.12, I have given a letter to Manager,SBI,Rupnarayanpur for set right the above matter since, till date no feedback from bank side.
