1. Token for reservation are blackmarketed at jhansi station. I was 25th in queue for token on 23/12/10 but the token alloted was no. 71(issue time :- 07:51 hrs), however men in railway uniform were being distributed the tokens freely and in bunches of 5 or 6 each.
2. The person operating the token issuing system was not wearing any uniform.
He refused to show any id and gave his name to be NITIN KUMAR.
3. The person operating reservation window number5(at 08:00hrs) refused me a reservation request for Tatkal Ticket Sabatmati Express2AC, Jhansi to Ahemdabad for 25/12/10.he stated that there s no Tatkal quota in Sabarmati Express. His nameplate showed the name V.K.Bajpai.
Contrary to Mr Bajpai's claims my brother was able to book the above stated ticket alost simultaneously. My reserved Ticket PNR is 2415239372.
Token system was considered as a tool to fight the prevalent corruption. However, it seems that rather it has legalised the fraud. this isn,t possible without the Station Master being Hand in gloves with the reservation brokers. The gains also seem to be of gargantuan propositons as the commission per ticket(Tatkal, AC) ranges from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1000.
Hoping this institutionalisation of corruption would be checked.
