Vodafone Chennai - Fraudulent billing

On 1st aug 2014, I had cancelled the post paid subscription of 2 post paid mobile SIMs mentioned below for data for the reason that they were quite slow and did not serve the purpose for which I got them. I paid cash at Vodafone Store at Nanganallur, Chennai till 1st aug 2014 and cancelled the connections. One of the officers there by name Mr. Gowri Shankar wrote the email id of Vodafone as “ vodafonecare.chennai@vodafone.com” and asked me to send a mail to that email id “ vodafonecare.chennai@vodafone.com” confirming the cancellation. On the same day I sent an email to that email id asking them for cancellation and to confirm the cancellation. I stopped using the SIMS for data from that date.

But Vodafone sent me the bill for the next month and sent me email asking me to pay. I replied to them on Sep 17, as quoted below, along with a copy of my email given above dated st Aug 2014.

I will not reply to any more mails from you, , but still if I get mails from you, i will only lodge a complaint to IRDA for causing harassment and mental agony.

Thereafter, I have received at least 200 telephone calls asking me to pay about Rs 3700 eventhough I have already paid. . I told them that I had already paid till the date of cancellation and I need not pay any further amount. But they continue to insist that I have to pay.

Now you have sent a pre-legal notice.

I want to file
1. a complaint against Vodafone to TRAI for wrongful billing, harassment, mental agony by repeated calling and for damages for these actions.
2. a case against Vodafone in the consumer forum / court for wrongful billing, harassment, mental agony by repeated calling and for damages for these actions.

I want Vodafone to cancel their fraudulent bills and withdraw their notice or else be prepared to face legal and consumer action from me.
