Airtel Mobile Karnataka - Fraud done in plan activation

I have taken a new postpaid connection.
When I got a verification call, it was a lady who called me, she explained me my rental and plan which I want to opt. I also inquired about the mobile internet plan, she explained a plan and I agreed to it. I told her to activate both of them together. She agreed to it as well.
But after a week I came to know, when my internet on mobile was barred, that internet plan was not activated and I'm being charged 1600 now.
They say they do not keep any call records which they make to us but only those calls are recorded, which we make to them.
They are not ready to activate my internet on mobile unless I pay that 1600 which is clear fraud with me. I need help in this.
There's a lot of things I do from my mobile which I am not able to do now. I need compensation as well.
