Hi,

I want to file a complain against axis bank Chandannagar branch.

I went to axis bank Chandananagar Branch ( west Bengal) in june 2012 to open a salary /zero balance account. The representative,( Subhankar Kundu), he persuaded me to open a savings account. I told him my requirements that i want to shift my salary account to axis bank as my previous salary account is for Bangalore and i want my salary account to be local one which i can work with directly in any need. To this Subhankar said he can not provide a salary account instead he was giving more stress on opening savings account. So, i asked him if i can maintain zero balance. To this he said " It's your account sir, you can maintain zero balance" . After this for more than 2 weeks the bank kit did not arrive. When i enquirred, bank officials behaved very badly with me. They said "we have sent your kit....... we dont know why you did not receive it." Then they asked me to check with local post office. I had to run from bank to post office in order to gather the kit. Is this a good banking practice? where is the customer satisfaction which banks project in television advertisements?

I thought the account is a zero balance account and during first quarter ( April-June 2013) the average balance kept in the account was around Rs 3000/-. I found on July 27th around Rs 850/- was deducted as lien amount. I was not sure why this money was deducted.

They said that since the balance was below the required minimum balance this lien amount is deducted. Only then i came to know that it is not a zero balance account.

Now in the 2nd quarter ( july-aug 2013) i maintained above Rs 5000/- average balance which is required to be maintained as per RBI rules for semi urban area

Again i noticed that on 28.09.2013 around Rs 860/- is deducted for not maintaining balance. This time i did not understand why the amount was deducted. To this they said Chandannagar is Urban area. When i called up customer care they said Chandannagar is Semi Urban area and the amount 860/- which is wrongly deducted. They took a complain. The complain number is 8287678.

When i approached the bank, they said Chandannagar is urban and money deducted will not be returned bank. I am not able to understand how 2 people of the same bank say different things at the same time.

So, with utter frustration, i am moving forward to close this account forever also i will never ask any member from my family to approach axis bank further. I am totally dissatisfied with axis bank and their staff. When i said i will close the account the manager was not moved at all. He said ok you have to return the atm card, cheque book, etc etc.

I am raising this concern to bring this into the light about private banks and their attitude towards customers.

regards
Debashish
