CITIBANK India - CITI Bank transaction with Country Club

Dear Team,

I am chasing the disputed transaction from months and after two years I got the following reply from CITI so I have asked to justify the bank relationship with Country Club and they have put mnay silly reasons. I want to raise a complaint again Citi and Country club as both are responsible for the loss.


Dear Citi officer,

I am not happy with your service. I am in loss with one of the disputed transaction. I lost complete trust on the banking system with Citi.

I am fedup by chasing again and again for getting the srevice from Citi as I have never experiences such worst banking in my entire life .

Can you Justify? Why my case was not handled politely and appropriately without providing any valid solution.

I made the transaction for the payment of Rs 65000/- to the same (Merchant) Country Vacations with HDFC(Rs.30000) and CITI(Rs.35000) on the same day.

I raised concerns on the disputed transactions dated April 25, 2015 towards M/s. COUNTRY CLUB - BEGUMPE vide reference numbers, I1604060225 and I1604060226.

HDFC accepted my request and investigated and followup closely with the Merchant so finally yesterday they provided the Charge back from Merchant and I am happy with their approach. They also updated me the status regularly and provided all the necessary information when ever I have requested.(For proof -See below ,-PFA)

But CITI you took lot of time to accept my request and after chasing you guys finally you provided insufficient information to me where I have to chase again and again just to clarify the request and finally at the end you come up with many false policies / CARD PAYMENT rules. I hope the same rules applies to all the bank howcome HDFC bank able to get the charge

Please justify :

1. CITI : Card members are requested to raise any transaction dispute within 60 days from the transaction date. This duration is an accepted cut-off period for us to investigate with the merchant establishment / acquiring bank
ME - If this is the case then how come HDFC bank accepted my request.?

2. In your instant case, we note that the disputes were initiated post the accepted time frame. On receipt of your e-mail and on good efforts basis, we had taken up the case for first level investigation.
ME -What investigation have been carried further if you have such a rule to not accept after 60 days?

3. However, the merchant bank had declined the transactions quoting the same as "out of time frame".
ME -How come the Merchant bank declined where as HDFC able to settle the charge back in my favour today.

4. As per association guidelines, the cardholder has to contact the merchant within 14 days from the membership agreement date.
ME -How did you believe the fake / void agreement from the Merchant as they have deceived me the same way they cheated you.

5. In view of the above, we regret our inability to proceed further in this case. We request yout to contact the merchant directly in this regard.
ME - Please justify without any acknowledge from my side how can you close the request with partial investigations.

We have reviewed your concerns on the disputed transactions dated April 25, 2015 towards M/s. COUNTRY CLUB - BEGUMPE vide reference numbers, I1604060225 and I1604060226. We wish to submit the following in this regard:

Dear Team,

Kindly treat the below issue as high priority.

I own the credit card ending in 2762. I have made payment on 31st March, 2017 via netbanking through IDBI bank for the amount of Rs. 6500 towards the mentioned credit card whereas the bank claims the amount of Rs: 6500 debited twice form my netbanking.

Kindly confirm on the same and let me know the reason behind the issue within 24 hrs.

I can give you the details if you can give me the reply against the same.
