I am a senior citizen now, ex-service personnel retired in 1984. I joined Oman defence in 1986 and served for 26 years. I used to travel between Muscat & Oman almost 3 times a month by club class. I left MOD Oman in 2012 when attained the age of 60 years as a Raaid or Major. I must have traveled in this sector almost 75 times. My favorite carriers were, Gulf Air & Oman Air for the simplest reason: they believe in good service than a profit making organization. From 2012 to 2015 I used to opt your carrier for domestic sector between Mumbai & Cochin since it was comparatively cheaper. Of late I had to travel to Muscat in connection with business matters. booking was done from my client end and I was forced to take your carrier. My onward travel to Muscat was by flight 6E 81 on 07 Aug 20:20 from Mumbai & return was by 6E 82 flight from Muscat on 04 Nov 22; 45. My place of final destination in Oman was Salalah by domestic flight Oman Air. Main complaint: I took the domestic flight from Salalah to Muscat at 1335 on 04 Nov and was to take 6E 82 fro Muscat to Mumbai. I remained in the transit lounge and arrived at the counter at 2100 hrs to check in. I had two small two bags which weighed 31.8 Kg in Salalah. The same bags when kept on the weighing machine at Muscat counter showed 34Kg and I was asked to pay for the excess> I argued with the lady at the counter who referred to your staff who is in his 30s was so arrogant to me. He says" you have to pay for the excess weight" When I told him it weighed 31.8 in Salalah, why this difference? He finally shifted my luggage to the adjacent counter and it showed only 32Kg. He then was trying to justify himself that the machine falls under the local authorities. He lost his battle and was not prepared to accept the fact. He then asked me where is your had bag. I showed him and he wanted to weigh the same. it showed 9 Kgs. These boys do not act logically. They think a literate experienced passenger is a fool to accept their nonsense. All the fellow passengers mad a hue & cry at the counter supporting me. Finally, that little immature boy finally won and I had to pay for 4 Kgs + tax which worked out to be Oman Riyal 18/- about IRS 3150/- my total value of the luggage was less than that amount.I told that guy, this will be my last time to travel in your carrier and I shall not hesitate to pass on my bitter experience to my friends & relatives through the social media. I need a proper investigation on my complaint and report me on the actions you have taken by adequately compensating me for the agony & tension I had to undergo. Please keep at least one experienced & mature person rather than keeping these robots.
Awaiting for a plausible response. i have the receipt of the amount paid for excess luggage,if required I can submit as required.
